Cloud drive mounting: The Files app now has native cloud storage support. You can now mount AWS S3, Tencent COS, and Olares Space buckets directly into your file system for a single, unified view.

Remote control with LarePass: The redesigned LarePass mobile app now acts as a true remote control for your Olares. New underlying APIs allow you to securely update, reboot, or power down your system from anywhere and check live system status at a glance.

Team-ready Vault: Sharing secrets is now easier than ever. Vault automatically creates "My Team" groups for seamless sharing with your colleagues. In addition, Vault now supports import from 1Password and Bitwarden via LarePass Desktop.

More responsive Market: Browsing, searching, and installing applications from the Market is now dramatically faster. Olares can now automatically switch to the nearest chart repository, reducing latency and improving the overall user experience.

This is our most significant update to date. This release focuses on giving you more control, a more intuitive experience, and stronger security for your personal cloud.

Major features in 1.12.0

Advanced GPU Management: Olares has integrated HAMi scheduler for advanced GPU scheduling, which supports managing GPUs across different nodes, and offers three allocation modes: exclusive, time-slicing, and memory-slicing.

Backup & Restore: You can now perform backups for directories and supported apps like Wise. Supported backup locations include Olares Space, AWS S3, and Tencent COS.

Resilient system upgrades: The upgrade framework has been enhanced to ensure cluster stability and reliability during the update process. The new process includes improved pre-flight checks for disk space and node health, better state management, and confirmation steps before applying a downloaded upgrade.

LLDAP integration & security overhaul: Olares 1.12 has centralized user management and enhanced overall security by integrating LLDAP for account authentication.

Enhancements

Core component upgrades: Kubernetes has been upgraded to v1.32.3, etcd to v3.5.18,containerd to v2.1.3, and CUDA support extended to 12.9.

Dashboard: The Dashboard is expanded with more panels. In addition to CPU, memory, and disk, you now get dedicated, real-time insights into GPU and network usage right from the home screen. Each resource now has its own detailed view with key metrics.

Settings: The Settings app is completely redesigned with cleaner categories and a more intuitive structure, including dedicated sections for the new Backup & Restore, VPN, Network, and GPU settings.

Files: Core file-service APIs have been refactored for faster, more reliable file transfers.

Market: The Market has been upgraded with the search function, brand new app categories, and an improved UI to provide better status feedback during app installation.

Stability Improvements and Key Bug Fixes

This release primarily focuses on addressing community-reported bugs and enhancing system stability across various components and features, including application management, system upgrade, SMB mounting, Wise, Files, and Market.

Improved SMB mount stability and compatibility

Fixed issues with unstable connections and disconnections experienced with certain Samba servers like ZSPACE.
Enhanced mounting workflow: When mounting via server IP or hostname (especially servers with multiple shares like Synology NAS), you'll now be guided to select the specific shared directories, preventing mounting errors.
Added support for subdirectory mounting. Now you can now mount specific subdirectories within a Samba share (use with caution, as compatibility may vary).

Upgrade reliability

Fixed a bug that could cause system upgrades to fail if the local name of Olares ID consisted of 8 pure digits.

Enhanced application management

Addressed an issue where uninstalling certain applications (such as Dify) did not fully clear cache directories, preventing subsequent reinstallation.
Optimized the image pulling mechanism by using the unpack parameter. This effectively prevents "unpack errors" during container startup.

Market reliability

Marked Olares Market as a critical cluster application to prevent it from being unexpectedly evicted by kubelet during periods of system resource pressure. This ensures continuous service availability.
Fixed an issue where insufficient member resource quota was incorrectly displayed as cluster resource shortages for certain applications.

App development via Dev Containers: Studio now supports app development based on Dev Containers, providing a standard, convenient, and isolated development environment to improve app development efficiency.

With the new subnet routing feature, you can now remotely SSH into other devices on the same local network as Olares. After enabling subnet routing, you can further configure ACL rules to allow traffic to specific ports based on the services you want to access.
